These Terms govern your use of the Flott Taxi Iceland website and services, including city rides, airport transfers and tours. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these Terms.
Services
We operate a licensed taxi service in Iceland and coordinate rides with professional drivers. Availability may vary due to weather, road closures or safety conditions.
Bookings and communication
- Orders may require phone verification by SMS to prevent fraud.
- We may contact you via phone or email to coordinate pickup details.
- Airport transfers rely on accurate flight details to manage delays.
Pricing and payment
- City fares follow the published rate table or certified taximeter where applicable.
- Airport transfer price (KEF ↔ Reykjavík) is fixed unless otherwise stated; other distances use a certified taximeter.
- Two payment options are available: online payment at the time of booking, or payment directly to the driver upon arrival. The available methods may vary by service type.
Vehicle class
- When you select a vehicle class, we will dispatch a vehicle matching or exceeding that class description. The company may upgrade the vehicle class at no additional cost and without prior notice.
- The company never downgrades the vehicle class. A downgrade is only possible with the passenger's explicit consent and a refund of the price difference.
- The "Sedan" class is an economy option; a vehicle of any class may be dispatched to fulfill a Sedan booking.
Waiting time
- Airport pickups include 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time from the scheduled pickup time.
- All other pickups include 15 minutes of complimentary waiting time.
- We monitor flight tracking systems and do our best to adjust to early arrivals; however, the time specified at booking remains the primary reference.
Cancellations and changes
- You may cancel a city ride free of charge before the driver departs for your location. Please inform us as early as possible.
- Airport transfers cancelled less than 12 hours before the scheduled pickup time are eligible for a refund of only 50% of the fare.
- If you paid online and cancel within the allowed free-cancellation window, the full amount will be refunded, except for any third-party transaction fees (payment processing commissions) which are non-refundable.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reassign rides for safety or operational reasons (including weather alerts or road closures).
No-show
If the passenger does not appear within the complimentary waiting period and cannot be reached, the ride is considered a no-show. In such cases, any online prepayment is non-refundable.
User responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact details, pickup address, flight number and pickup time. We are not liable for missed pickups resulting from incorrect information provided by the passenger.
- Observe safety instructions, wear seatbelts and use child seats as required by law.
- Comply with applicable laws and refrain from abusive or unsafe behavior.
Child safety seats
Child safety seats are available upon request at no extra charge. It is the passenger's responsibility to indicate the need for a child seat and provide accurate information (number and ages of children) when placing the booking. We cannot guarantee a child seat if it was not requested in advance.
Pets
Pets are permitted in our vehicles upon prior request. Please indicate this when booking so we can assign a suitable vehicle. The passenger is responsible for any damage or additional cleaning caused by the animal.
Damage to vehicle
Passengers are liable for any damage to, or extraordinary soiling of, the vehicle interior caused during the ride (including but not limited to stains, spills and vandalism). A cleaning or repair fee may be charged accordingly.
Lost belongings
We are not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle. While we will make reasonable efforts to help locate and return forgotten belongings, we cannot guarantee their recovery.
Right to refuse service
The driver reserves the right to refuse or terminate a ride if a passenger behaves in a manner that threatens the safety or comfort of the driver or other passengers, including but not limited to aggression, severe intoxication, or violation of these Terms.
Cameras and GPS
Our vehicles are equipped with dashboard cameras and GPS tracking devices for the safety of passengers and drivers and for service quality purposes. By using our services, you acknowledge the presence of these devices.
Prohibited uses
Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, or submit fraudulent orders.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or events outside our reasonable control (force majeure). Nothing limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct or personal injury where not permitted by law.
Third‑party services
We rely on third‑party providers (e.g., SMS verification by Twilio). Their terms and privacy policies may apply in addition to ours.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes should first be addressed to us at [email protected]. If unresolved, they may be brought before the competent courts in Iceland.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version is posted on this page.
