The KEF–Reykjavík run

Keflavík to Reykjavík is the busiest transfer route in the country, and most of our airport work happens on it. The drive is about 50 km along Reykjanesbraut (Route 41) and takes 40–55 minutes, depending on weather. The car has Wi-Fi, water and USB charging — useful after a long flight.

Compared with the Flybus or Airport Direct buses: the bus drops you at BSÍ, and you usually need a second transfer to your hotel. A taxi just drives to the address. For two people travelling together the all-in cost tends to be similar to bus plus second leg, sometimes less, and the door-to-door time is closer to 50 minutes than 90.

The same fixed price applies at 04:00 and at 16:00, in November and in July, on weekdays and on Christmas Day.

Meeting your driver

The booking confirmation contains the flight number, so the driver is already at KEF when your plane lands. After customs you walk through the sliding doors into the arrivals hall — the driver is standing there with a card showing your name (or company name).

From the meeting point it's a short walk to the car park. The driver loads the bags. From parking to the city is normally another 50 minutes.

For destinations outside the capital region — Selfoss, Vík, Höfn — use the booking form. It calculates the long-distance price automatically based on the road distance.

How much is a taxi from Keflavík to Reykjavík?

A sedan is 15.000 ISK for 1–3 passengers. An SUV is 18.000 ISK, a 7-seat minivan is 24.000 ISK. The price is fixed at booking and covers all road tolls and fees, plus the standard 60 minutes of free waiting on airport pickups.

How long does the ride take?

About 40–55 minutes for downtown 101. From Hafnarfjörður and Kópavogur it can be closer to 35 minutes — they're actually slightly closer to KEF than the city centre.

Where do I find the driver at KEF?

In the arrivals hall, just past customs. The driver holds a card with your name. The car park is a few minutes' walk away. The pickup is included in the fare.

Can I book on the same day?

For pre-paid fixed-price bookings we prefer at least 12 hours' notice. Last-minute is usually fine too — most arrivals can be covered within 15–20 minutes by phone or via the form.

Is the price different at night?

No. The fixed price is the same at night, on weekends and on public holidays. There is no night surcharge or surge.

How many bags fit?

A sedan takes three passengers and three large suitcases plus carry-ons. A minivan takes six passengers with luggage. For larger groups we can dispatch a minibus or two cars at a group rate — see /for-groups.

What about flight delays?

Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting from the scheduled pickup time. We track the flight by number and adjust toward the actual arrival wherever we can; the booked time still remains the primary reference under our terms. Provide the correct flight number at booking and let us know in advance if you already know about a longer delay.

What about cancellations and changes?

Airport transfers can be cancelled or changed free of charge up to 12 hours before the scheduled pickup; within that window the fare is fully refundable (minus any payment-processor fees if paid online). Are child seats included?

Yes, free of charge — but they must be requested in advance. Tell us how many children and their ages when booking; we cannot guarantee a seat that was not pre-requested.

What if the driver doesn't arrive?

Message us straight away on WhatsApp at +354 793 7777. Dispatch will locate the driver and reassign one if needed. We reserve the right to reassign or, in rare cases involving safety or weather, to cancel — but for ordinary operational issues we cover the booking with another car at our cost.
